Alice’s Plum- (Parker, Scott 2024)- Lactiflora,
The full double cupped blooms have dark red petals with purple undertones. Approximately 2/3 from the outer petals and approximately 1/3 from the center of the flower- is one row of petals which has a distinctive golden yellow edging on the tips of the petals. Strong 34-36 inch stems hold the blooms upright. It blooms mid to late season. Good cut flower which has a very pleasing fragrance. Jill Stevens, APS Director, indicated that its fragrance- “smells like apples.” It normally does not have any carpels. It does not have any pollen or stamens so it should store very well in cold storage for the cut flower market. It received a Certificate of Merit at the 2024 APS Convention.
